COVID 19 Update 7/4/21 - Health Club
I am very happy to let you know that as of 12th April 2021, the Health Club can once again open its doors to members.

1. Gym & Swimming Information:
From 12th April, the gym and swimming pool can reopen. Unfortunately at this point, indoor exercise classes, steam rooms and saunas will remain closed.
When we return to the gym and pool, we will still need to have a booking procedure in place to limit the numbers of people using the facility at one time. This will operate in the same way as it did before the last lockdown. Gym and pool sessions can be booked on the My Wellness App up to 7 days in advance.
Please do not arrive early for your booked sessions as this will overcrowd the facilities and you may be asked to wait outside. For swimming sessions, please be brief in the changing rooms and ensure you have left within your hour time slot.
Our opening hours will be as follows, but will be reviewed on a regular bases:
Monday – Friday: 6:30am – 8:30pm
Weekend & Bank Holidays: 7:30am – 6:30pm
All COVID cleaning and hygiene procedures will still be in operation, so please remind yourself of these before coming back. They can be found on the news section of our website: News and Events at Cottingham Parks. In a nutshell, this will include:
Keeping your distance form other members
Face coverings to be warn everywhere indoors except whilst exercising or swimming
Cleaning all equipment after use
Only attending sessions you have booked for in advance
Checking in on arrival for all sessions either with the gym team (for gym sessions) or reception team (for swimming sessions)
You must not attend the site if you are poorly, or showing any signs of COVID, such as a high temperature, a cough or a change in sense of taste or smell.
2. Kids Swimming Sessions:
To book into the kids swimming sessions, YOU MUST RING RECEPTION. You can not book these sessions through the app as we need to know how many children you are bringing with you. If you just book yourself in on the app, and haven't booked the children in, you will be turned away if the session is full.
Children under 4 MUST be supervised in the pool on a one to one basis. Children 4 and over can be supervised on a two children to one adult basis.
3. Fitness Classes:
Indoor fitness classes (including aqua aerobics) will hopefully be returning on 17th May 2021, as long as we get government permission. We will however have an outdoor fitness class timetable running in the meantime, which will continue throughout summer.
This outdoor timetable will evolve as the weather improves and nights get longer etc. It will also be amalgamated with the indoor timetable when the time comes.
When attending the outdoor classes, booking must be made as usual on the app, and you must dress appropriately for all weathers! Please also be advised that the ground you will be training on will be naturally uneven, so please check your area before you start the class.
4. Subscriptions & Payments:
For those members who pay annually or upfront for memberships. Your expiry dates will be extended for the period of time we was closed.
For those members who pay by Direct Debit. Your first payment will come out of your account at the beginning of May. If you paid the full membership fee at the start of January before we locked down, this payment will be credited to April. If you where still on hold in January, or did not make a payment for whatever reason, your Direct Debit will restart in April.
If you wish to enquire about specific expiry dates etc, please bare in mind that the admin team are having to go into each individual account to extend these so there may be a slight delay in getting this information back to you.
5. Swimming Lessons:
We are aiming to start swimming lessons from Monday 3rd May 2021. In the coming weeks, a member of the wellness team will be in touch to confirm you still want a place on the programme for your child/children. If you miss our call, we will email you. Please get back to us asap, otherwise we may wrongly assume you no longer want your place.
When we call you, we will go through payments and subscriptions.
6. Catering Services:
From 12th April 2021, we will be running an outdoor catering service. This will be table service only. There will be no indoor hospitality until 17th May 2021.
You may have noticed the new outdoor seating already, or the recently erected gazebo! We hope you will give this a try as it would be lovely to see you all enjoying a coffee and some food once again.
I'm sure you are all as excited as we are to be on the road back to 'normal', we just need to stick to the health and hygiene procedures to keep everyone safe using the building for a little longer.
