COVID 19 Update 3/4/21 - Golf
I hope you have enjoyed your long awaited return to the golf course. While it is very cold today the weather was kind to us over the weekend and it was great to see you all out playing again.
There was been a fantastic take up to the Curry Cup with 108 of the 112 spaces now filled with Rob Sawdon, Brent Warrener and Jim Brown making the early running. There was also a good entry in the Skidby Stableford competition to which we are looking at add further events.
Our four Captains of Cottingham 2021, Steve Corbett (men), Annette Jackson (ladies), Geoff Gurling (seniors) and Harry Wescott (juniors), have asked me to pass on their thanks for your support on their 'drive in' on Sunday which was won by the team of Ian Brownlie, Mark Foster, Dave Mitton
At Cottingham, starting Monday 12th April we will be offering some out door catering. Tables will be set on the balcony, out on the patio and under a small marquee where the Captain's parking spots are (apologies to those who enjoy reserved parking who will not be able to use them for the next five weeks or so). This will operate by table only service so please be patient when waiting to be served.
At Skidby we will continue to offer a limited choice of food and drink from the Pro-shop which can be eaten on the patio area in front of the clubhouse. Alternatively, all Skidby members are welcome to use the Cottingham Parks facilities.
Anyone who was a 5 or 7 day member on 1st January 2021 will qualify for the bar credits (£50 for a 7 day member and £30 for a 5 day member). These will be applied to your accounts on renewal of your subscriptions, so anyone who has renewed Jan 1st to April 1st will be able to spend their credits from Monday. The remaining credits will be applied as memberships are renewed. The reason for this is simple to spread the cost to the company over the year without putting pressure on the cash flow.
To spend your bar credit you will need a membership card. Those who currently have one (card or grey fob) do not need to do anything, those without need to speak to the Pro-shop staff.
Some of you have asked why you could not access your handicaps this last weekend. While there were a few synchronisation problems , the main reason was that many have still to supply their details. If you are having problems please send me your name, preferred email address, your DOB and your permission to share these details on the WHS platform and I will look into it for you.
The booking system will now be back to the normal 7 days in advance with the online booking open 6 days in advance. Please remember that if you only book a 2 or 3 ball other members can add to your booking. In the event of a dispute those who's name are booked in will have priority.
