COVID 19 Update 02/08/20 - HEALTH CLUB
First of all, I would just like to say a huge thank you to those members who have continued to offer the club their support since we have reopened. Its great to see some of the familiar faces back in the club, and equally as great to see some new faces!
All members have been great at making sure sessions are booked, and they are letting us know they have arrived in the building for their sessions.
It has also been noticed that all members are taking the cleaning of equipment after use seriously, and everyone is doing their bit, making sure we stay COVID compliant, and a safe place to enjoy.
As we said in the last update, we would be constantly reviewing our policies and procedures, and adapting these as we go along, based on customer feedback and observations. Please see below a few of these changes that will come into effect from week commencing 3rd August 2020:
Children's Swimming Times:
We have added an additional three swimming times for children.
These have been added on a Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday 5-6pm. These are in addition to the ones we already had. (These times are not exclusive to children, we still have adult swim slots running alongside these.)
Not only do these additional slots increase availability, they also make it easier for parents who work, as the previous sessions were too early. These additional sessions have been added back to back with the 4-5pm sessions, which means if you have two children you need to bring swimming, you can bring a non-member with you to sit in the cafe with one child in the first slot, and then swap the children over for the second slot.
The children could then take advantage of the 50% off meal scheme Monday - Wednesday whilst their sibling is having a swim!
Our next review in a couple of weeks will look at child to adult supervision ratios in the pool, and will take into account the age, and the swimming ability of the children.
Studio & Pool Fitness Classes:
Due to the success and popularity of the current class timetable (as well as reduced capacity in classes), we have added an additional four classes starting next week:
- Monday: Gentle Water Workout 14:00 - 14:30
- Tuesday: Indoor Cycling followed by Mini Pump 06:45 - 07:45
Complete Conditioning Class at 09:00 - 09:45 (In addition to the current conditioning class)
We have also added some 'Aqua Cards' to poolside. These cards have water based exercises and sessions on then which you can do when you are in the pool if you cant get to one of the aqua aerobics sessions.
You may already have noticed that we have reduced some classes from 1 hour sessions, to 45 minute sessions. This is to allow us to accommodate more of you by adding an additional class around a similar time. So instead of ten people getting a 1 hour workout, we can now accommodate twenty people getting a 45 minute workout, which is also great for those of you who have not done as much exercise over the last 4 months as too much too soon can cause injury!
As we have said previously, some of these adaptations will happen last minute, as and when we see an opportunity to improve the service we are offering. None of us have been in this situation before, which means we are learning what works best as we go along.
Our next review in a couple of weeks will look at adding even more classes, as well as the 30 minute change over between classes.
We have reinstated the gym water dispenser. After further investigation, the Government guidelines state that drinking fountains may not be used, but water dispensers where people refill their own water bottle are ok.
Adult guest passes may now be used to try the Health Club. Guests MUST be booked in, and their guest pass MUST be handed into reception on entry. The pass must contain the full name and contact details for the guest to book a guest in please call 01482 846030.
We look forward to a second successful week after reopening, and hope to see more of you in the club over the coming weeks.
Thank you again for your continued support and understanding whilst we adapt the business to meet the new Government stipulations.
