Will's PGA Journey - February 2019
I had a few busy weeks the end of February with my Level 2 coaching course and my residential at the Belfry, where the PGA Headquarters are.
I successful passed the first part of my level 2. This consisted of an assessed 20-minute coaching season on pitching, and an explanation-demonstration of chipping.
This means the second part of my level 2 will consist of a 20-minute full-swing coaching session and an explanation-demonstration on bunker play. This part will happen in May, along with all my other exams (so another bust month!).
The residential was successful, having two assessments during that week. These assessments included a presentation, which is 10% of your overall score, in the sport science section, and a club build which is a key part to passing year 2 of the PGA.
I learned a lot at the residential with other classes included golf coaching, business and equipment technology.
As for playing, my season starts on the 11th March at Moortown GC, so hopefully I play well and get my season off to a good start!
