Junior Golf at Cottingham Parks
Currently boasting the biggest Junior Golf Academy in the East Riding, we combine quality coaches, ideal facilities, and a great family atmosphere to make the Academy a fantastic environment for children to enjoy learning how to play golf whilst having fun.
Monitoring progression through ‘skills tests’ and regular on-course events, we guide Juniors from complete beginners, into membership, and in many cases on into the professional ranks.
With superb facilities including: a floodlit driving range, artificial and grass short game areas; a large putting green; 2 x 18 hole golf courses; health club; lounge and café bar, Cottingham Parks is the ideal place to learn and develop.
We host regular weekly group coaching sessions (including girls only classes), plus half day coaching during school holidays. Full details are available from the Pro-shop.
Open to all, our extremely popular Junior week comprises of 5 days coaching, lunch, daily on-the-course competitions and prizes. Anyone wishing to take part is advised to book early as places are often over-subscribed.

The junior academy at Cottingham GC was initially just somewhere that I thought would occupy my son whilst I was at the gym, how wrong I was? Over the past 3 years it has become a large part of our family life as my son Harry goes from strength to strength honing his game under the guidance of both Mark and Alex, both of whom are skilled golfers who make learning easy and most importantly great fun. The respect that all the juniors have for both Mark and Alex is obvious to all and the camaraderie and banter that they have within the group is something that many clubs can only dream off. The coaching given at CGC is second to none and my sons handicap continues to fall. I can only thank the professionalism of Mark and Alex for the way that they have encouraged, supported and engaged with not only the juniors but the parents and families also. What started as just another sport to try for my son has now become an obsession. Who Knows where it could end? - Chris W
The Junior Academy at Cottingham Parks is brilliant. The coaching is first class and they can’t do enough to encourage the Juniors. My son has been attending for several years now and he absolutely loves it. He loves the coaching sessions, on course competitions, away days and has, I’m sure, made many friends for life. - Rich B
My son has been receiving golf lessons from Alex for a couple of years in both group and one to one lessons. He has a fantastic ability to communicate with the juniors at all ages and always makes it an enjoyable experience. From a parents perspective he is always very approachable and takes the time to explain the lesson to me so I can help him apply it on the course. The junior section at Cottingham Parks is very well run with a large number of competitions suiting all abilities and a very good balance between healthy competition and fun. - Jon E
